About Amanda
Amanda Butler, MA, LMFT is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Amanda has training in individual and couple therapy, depth psychology (Jungian), and creative arts therapeutic interventions. She integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. Her therapeutic approach is person-centered, gentle, and direct, with an emphasis on providing support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges, as well as using depth psychology in making unconscious processes conscious. With compassion and understanding, she works with each individual to help them find hope and meaning, build on their strengths, and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
Education
Amanda received her MA in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in 2020. She completed her internship at SLC Mental Health, working with individuals and couples, as well as at The EFT Clinic where she focused on the treatment of relational difficulties from an attachment perspective. She completed her pre-licensure hours at Amber Creek Counseling and Psychiatry, where she continued to work with individuals and couples using depth psychology and attachment perspectives. Amanda’s areas of interest include: relationship problems, depression, anxiety, meaning and identity issues, grief and loss, career issues, psychological aspects of health challenges, self-worth, self-esteem, issues related to faith and spirituality, sexual addiction, betrayal trauma, depth psychology, and dream work, as well as Jungian, depth, archetypal and transpersonal models of psychotherapy.
Professional Activities and Memberships
Amanda a psychotherapist in private practice and she is accepting new clients. In addition to her work as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Amanda served as the board secretary for the Jung Society of Utah from 2019 to 2022, and as the blog and newsletter manager from 2016 to 2022. She has written and contributed to many articles on psychological topics. Amanda is a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, the Utah Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, and the Jung Society of Utah.
